Health Resilience

One of the priorities of ASEAN-BAC 2023 is to enhance the region's health resilience and accessibility by utilizing the health infrastructure established during the Covid-19 pandemic response.

Strategic policies adopted in health resilience priorities include

  1. Increasing research and development, manufacturing critical vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics within ASEAN

  2. Contributing to the establishment of a unified ASEAN healthcare market

  3. Mitigating the risks associated with private sector investments in R&D and manufacturing

  4. Promoting innovative, high-tech investments in genomics, mRNA, and biologics through regional programs

The health resilience initiatives have led to the establishment of ASEAN One-Shot Campaigns as a legacy program that explores the potential of next-generation vaccines and injectable therapeutics.
