Sustainable Development
ASEAN-BAC 2023 will work towards accelerating an inclusive green economic transition, building an enabling environment and network for ASEAN's energy transition, and utilizing the ASEAN Taxonomy for sustainable finance products. Collaboration with stakeholders will be crucial to attract investments.
This initiative will also develop a common framework for achieving net zero across ASEAN, a knowledge sharing and advocacy platform, and a carbon center of excellence to serve as a knowledge hub and practice sharing platform.
There are several strategic policies adopted in sustainable development priorities which are:
Developing a common understanding and framework for Net Zero
Leveraging sustainable finance
Enabling a just and affordable energy transition
Therefore, the sustainable development initiative comprises two programs, which are ASEAN Net Zero Hub and Carbon Centre of Excellence.
